Field Description
Interface
Interface name:
VTER—Terminating VE interface.
VACC—Access VE interface.
Link
Physical link state of the interface:
UP—The link is physically up.
DOWN—The link is physically down.
ADM—The link is administratively shut down. You can execute the undo
shutdown command to restore the interface's physical state.
Stby—The interface is a standby interface.
Protocol
Protocol connection state of the interface: UP, DOWN, or UP(s).
The UP(s) state indicates that the network layer protocol state of the interface
is UP (spoofing), but no link is present or a link is established on demand on
the interface. Typically, a Null interface or a loopback interface has the (s)
attribute.
Main IP Primary IP address of the interface.
Description
Description information of the interface.
If the description information cannot be displayed within one line, this field
displays only part of the description. To view the complete description
information, use the display interface command without the brief keyword.

interface(s) under bridge mode:
The brief information of Layer 2 interfaces.
Cause
Reason why the interface is physically down. For possible reasons,
see Table 120.

Field Description
Not connected
No physical link: The interface is not connected with a network cable, or the
cable is faulty.
Administratively
The interface is manually shut down by the shutdown command. You can use
the undo shutdown command to restore the physical state of the interface.
Link-Aggregation interface
down
The aggregate interface that comprises the interface is shut down by the
shutdown command.
OAM connection failure
Failed to establish the OAM connection or the established OAM connection
is disconnected.
DLDP connection failure
Failed to establish the DLDP connection or the established DLDP connection is
disconnected.
Loopback detection-protected The interface is shut down because a loop is detected on it.
BPDU-protected The interface is shut down by the BPDU guard function.
Monitor-Link uplink down
The interface is down because the uplink port of the monitor link group that
comprises the interface is down.
