R2511-HP MSR Router Series Terminal Access Configuration Guide(V5)
68
Modifying route configuration file
The terminal access router is usually connected to the Unix server through WANs and therefore located
on an IP segment different from that of the Unix server, in which case you must configure a route on the
Unix server.
The following example shows how to do this:
# route add –netmask 255.255.255.0 –net 10.110.96.0 63.1.1.250
In the example above, 10.110.96.0 is the destination subnet, with the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and
the next hop IP address of 63.1.1.250.
Running and terminating ttyd on Unix server

Installing and configuring SUN OS server
Installing device drivers
You can choose to install device drivers using a floppy disk or FTP.
Using the floppy disk
For more information, see "Using a floppy disk."
NOTE:
In the SUN OS system, a floppy disk is mounted automatically and no mount operation is needed.
Using FTP
For more information, see "Using FTP."
Configuration prerequisites
Adding pseudo terminals
If there are not enough pseudo terminals on the SUN OS system, you can add new pseudo terminals by
modifying the system file as follows:
1. Open the system file.
