Troubleshooting H.323 gateway

Registration failure

Symptom

The gateway failed to register with the gatekeeper.

Solution

Check that:

1. The gateway and the gatekeeper can communicate with each other at the network layer with the

ping command.

2. Execute the display current-configuration command to make the ras-on command takes effect.

3. The gatekeeper function is activated at the gatekeeper end.

4. The area ID is configured on the gatekeeper.

5. If the node has been logged off, execute the ras-on command on the gateway to re-register with

the gatekeeper.
