Restoring the main next-startup configuration file
from a TFTP server
On an MSR2000 or MSR3000:
To download a configuration file from a TFTP server to the device and specify the file as the main
next-startup configuration file, perform the task in this section.
On an MSR4000:
To download a configuration file from a TFTP server to the root directory of each MPU's storage medium,
and specify the file as the main next-startup configuration file, perform the task in this section.
Before restoring the next-startup configuration file, make sure the following requirements are met:
• The server is reachable and enabled with TFTP service.
• You have read and write permissions.
To restore the main next-startup configuration file from a TFTP server:

Deleting a next-startup configuration file
CAUTION:
• On an MSR2000 or MSR3000, this task permanently deletes the next-startup confi
g
uration file from the
device. Before performing this task, back up the file as needed.
• On an MSR4000, this task permanently deletes the next-startup configuration file from each MPU.
Before performing this task, back up the file as needed.
You can delete the main, the backup, or both.
