Configuring the power saving function
The following matrix shows the feature and router compatibility:

With the power-saving function enabled, the device operates in either of the following modes:
• Sleep state (sleep)—The device shuts down all LEDs on the panel except the SYS LED, and
automatically enables the power-saving function on all Ethernet interfaces.
• Wake state (wake)—The device automatically enables the power-saving function on all Ethernet
interfaces and the LEDs turn on, turn off, or blink to reflect the device operation status.
If data exchange occurs on the console port or you press the Mode button when the device is operating
in sleep state, the device automatically transitions to wake mode and starts the wake-to-sleep delay timer.
If you do not enter characters on the console terminal or press the Mode button before the timer expires,
the device transitions to sleep mode.

Setting the port status detection timer
The device starts a detection timer when a port is shut down by a protocol. If the port is still down when
the detection timer expires, the device automatically brings up the port so the port status reflects the port's
actual physical status.
