1. Specify the
upgrade file
as the main
startup image
file.
• Method 1:
boot-loader file ipe-filename
{ backup | main }

boot-loader file boot
boot-package system
system-package [ feature
feature-package&<1-30> ]

You can also specify a backup startup image
file.
Upgrade files must be saved in the root
directory of the storage medium.
Make sure the following filename format
requirements are met:
• If method 1 is used, the file name must take
the storage-medium:/base-filename.ipe
format, for example, cfa0:/startup.ipe.
• If method 2 is used, all file names must take
the storage-medium:/base-filename.bin
format, for example, cfa0:/startup-boot.bin.
2. Save the
running
configuration.

This step makes sure any configuration you
have made can survive a reboot.
3. Reboot the
device.

At startup, the device reads the preloaded Boot
ROM image to RAM, loads the startup images
in the file, and sets the images as both current
software images and startup software images.
4. (Optional.)
Verify the
software
image
settings.
display boot-loader
Verify that the current software images are the
same as the startup software images.
