Parameters

interval: Sets the interval for sending join/prune messages, in the range of 0 to 18000 seconds. If the

value for this argument is 0, no join or prune messages are sent.

Usage guidelines

You can set the interval for sending join/prune messages in PIM view or interface view. The

configurations made in PIM view take effect on all interfaces, and the configurations made in interface

view take effect only on the current interface. If you set the interval in both PIM view and interface view,

the configuration in interface view always takes precedence.

Examples

# Set the global interval for sending join/prune messages to 80 seconds on the public network.

<Sysname> system-view

[Sysname] pim

[Sysname-pim] timer join-prune 80
