Creating a parameter template
A parameter template is used to configure the access point with which a 3G modem associates and the
authentication mode in which the service provider authenticates the 3G modem.

Configuring PIN authentication
Each SIM/UIM card has a PIN for authentication to prevent unauthorized users.
With PIN authentication enabled, a user needs to enter the PIN for authentication after:
Installing a 3G modem.
Rebooting the device where a USB 3G modem is attached.
Executing the modem reboot command to reboot a 3G modem.
Hot swapping a USB 3G modem.
Cold booting the device where a SIC-3G modem is installed.
In PIN authentication, if you cannot enter a correct PIN in specific attempts (depending on the 3G
modem model), you need a PUK to unlock the card.
