4. Configure the PIN for
authentication.
pin verify { simple pin | cipher
ciphered-pin }
By default, no PIN is configured for
a 3G modem.
This command saves the PIN on the
device, which enables automatic
PIN authentication when required.
Therefore, you can execute this
command before or after enabling
PIN authentication.
5. (Optional.) Specify a PUK to
unlock the PIN.
pin unlock puk new-pin N/A
6. (Optional.) Modify the PIN of
the SIM/UIM card.
pin modify current-pin new-pin
The modified PIN is saved in the
SIM/UIM card.
Configure the modified PIN by
using the pin verify command on
the device. Otherwise, PIN
authentication fails.
Configuring DM
NOTE:
Support for DM depends on the modem model.
Enabling diagnostic and monitoring (DM) on a 3G modem allows third-party debugging tools to
diagnose and monitor the 3G modem through cellular interface debugging output. For more information
about DM, see related 3G modem user manuals.
