Enhanced security—When placing a return call, the server dials the calling number configured at
the local end. This prevents the insecurity resulting from username and password compromise.
Payer change—This is useful for saving costs when the call rates in two directions are different.
Consolidated call charge bills—Facilitating settlement.
Only ISDN caller identification callback feature is available.
PPPoE client through DDR
DDR delivers PPPoE client implementation in one of the following modes:
On-demand mode—A connection is dialed when there is a demand for data transmission. It is
disconnected when idled for a specific period of time.
Permanent mode—A connection is automatically dialed immediately after the line is physically up.
It remains valid permanently. If the connection is disconnected, a new connection is automatically
redialed.
Diagnostic mode—A connection is dialed immediately after the device configurations are complete,
and it automatically terminates and then tries to re-establish at a pre-configured interval.
A PPPoE client provides the dialing function by associating a dialer interface and configuring PPP and
DDR parameters on the dialer interface. For more information about configuring a PPPoE client, see
"Configuring PPPoE."
