Parameters
ipv6-address: Specifies an IPv6 address.
prefix-length: Specifies a prefix length in the range of 1 to 128.
Usage guidelines
Like public IPv4 addresses, IPv6 global unicast addresses are assigned to ISPs. This type of address
allows for prefix aggregation to reduce the number of global routing entries.
Except for link-local addresses automatically obtained and those generated through stateless
autoconfiguration, all IPv6 addresses are removed from the interface if the undo ipv6 address command
is executed without any parameter specified.
Examples
# Set the IPv6 global unicast address of Ethernet 1/1 to 2001::1 with prefix length 64.
Method 1:
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] interface ethernet 1/1
[Sysname-Ethernet1/1] ipv6 address 2001::1/64
Method 2:
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] interface ethernet 1/1
[Sysname-Ethernet1/1] ipv6 address 2001::1 64
ipv6 address anycast
Use ipv6 address anycast to configure an IPv6 anycast address for an interface.
Use undo ipv6 address anycast to remove the IPv6 anycast address of the interface.
