Configuring port isolation
In this chapter, "MSR2000" refers to MSR2003. "MSR3000" collectively refers to MSR3012, MSR3024,
MSR3044, MSR3064. "MSR4000" collectively refers to MSR4060 and MSR4080.
Overview
The port isolation feature isolates Layer 2 traffic for data privacy and security without using VLANs.
Ports in an isolation group cannot communicate with each other. However, they can communicate with
ports outside the isolation group.

Feature and hardware compatibility
This feature is supported on the following hardware:
MSR routers installed with the Layer 2 switching module SIC 4GSW, SIC 4GSWP, DSIC 9FSW, DSIC
9FSWP, HMIM-24GSW, HMIM 24GSW-POE, or HMIM-8GSW.
