Usage guidelines
When you do not specify a card to process or forward traffic for an HDLC link bundle interface by using
the service command, the card where the receiving interface resides processes the received traffic. To
alleviate the processing pressure on a card and make efficient use of processing capabilities of service
cards, you can specify a card to handle traffic for an HDLC link bundle interface. Then, all traffic that
arrives at the HDLC link bundle interface will be processed or forwarded by the card whether or not the
receiving interface is located on the card.
If the card specified by this command is pulled out, traffic forwarding failure occurs on the HDLC link
bundle interface. After the card is plugged in again, the card resumes traffic forwarding for the HDLC
bundle interface.
