• user-defined node-identifier: Uses a case-sensitive string of 1 to 50 characters as the node identifier.
The padding format for the specified character string is always ASCII regardless of the specified
padding format.
format: Specifies the code type for the Circuit ID sub-option.
ascii: Specifies the ASCII code type.
hex: Specifies the hex code type.
Usage guidelines
The Circuit ID sub-option cannot carry information about interface splitting or subinterfaces. For more
information about interface splitting and subinterfaces, see Interface Configuration Guide.
If you use this command multiple times, the most recent configuration takes effect.
The padding format for the user-defined string, the normal mode, or the verbose modes varies by
command configuration. Table 16 sho

If replace is configured as the handling strategy for DHCP requests that contain Option 82, you must
specify the padding content and code type for the Circuit ID sub-option. If the handling strategy is keep
or drop, you do not need to specify the padding content and code type for the Circuit ID sub-option.
