New operating system support
Fabric Manager 5.2.0a supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 4.0.

New features introduced in Fabric Manager 5.2.0a
Fabric Manager 5.2.0a includes the following new features:
• DomainId and AreaId displays in hex in addition to decimal in the tables & topology.
• When a fabric is selected in any of the Topology views the Overview tab shows Domain ID
only in decimal and hex formats.
• Domain ID property (as mentioned above) has been renamed to Seed Switch Domain ID and
moved down the property list below “Seed Switch” property.
• Domain ID in all topology views under Switches tab contains four hex digits rather than two.
• Under Fabric View in FC Devices tab, Port ID colum n has been removed as it seems to be
redundant.
• Under Fabric View in FC Devices tab, User Port Number contains four hex digits rather than two.
• Domain ID in topology tool tip when mouse hovered on the fabric object under all topolog y views
hasbeenupdatedtodisplaybothindecimalandinhex.
• Area ID / Port Index column has been updated to display value both in hex and in decimal.
• Column headers of Area I D / Port Index, Domain ID & User Port Number have been appended
with (hex) to give visual cue to user.
New features introduced in Fabric Manager 5.2.0
Fabric Manager 5.2.0 includes the following new features:
• Fabric Manager C lient – includes the new Java/swing based client for Fabric Manager.
• Enhanced Topology — provides a comprehensive, real-time display of the fabric, switches,
interconnections, and end devices.
• Admin Dom ain (AD) and Role Based Access Control (RBAC) — p rovides facility to get AD filtere d
views and supports a role-based user concept similar to Fabric OS.
• Offline Zone Manag ement — allows the user to edit zone i nformation locally without affecting the
fabric and preview the impact of those changes before committing them.
• FOS 5.2.0 Features — provides management capability to the latest FOS features.
• Secure Comm unication — employs H TTPS communication between the server and the switch.
• iSCSI Management — provides fabric wide m a nagement functions for iSCSI blade.
• Fault Mana gement — collects supportShow information of the switch or groups of switches in
the fabric to initiate a Call Home action and saves support information through supportsave
command.
• Device Diagnostics — this Fabric Manager feature will now verify if the devices selected belong to
defined DCC policies.
• Fabric Health — lists problems that prevent the switches to be in “Normal” (Healthy) state.
