1 Installing Your Multimedia Sound Kit
Installing the Accessory Software
(The CD-ROM drive may be your E drive. In this case you would
enter e:\win311\clefstud\setup . You can check by
clicking the Browse button in the Run dialog box, and then clicking
on the Drives drop-down list.
OS/2 Warp
Installing the CD-ROM and Sound Board Drivers
OS/2 Warp contains its own driver software for the CD-ROM.
1 With OS/2 running, double-click on the OS/2 System folder and then
double-click on the System Setup folder.
2 Double-click on the Selective Install icon.
3 Click on the CD-ROM Device Support icon and, from the list of
devices, select
Non-listed IDE CD-ROM and click on OK.
4 Click on OK at the System Configuration window.
5 At the OS/2 Setup and Installation window, make sure Multimedia
Software Support is selected, and click on Install.
6 If a location such as
C:\disketts\os2v3
is displayed as the driver
location, click on Install. (Your system is preset to locate the driver.)
Otherwise, insert the OS/2 Warp Program Disk if you have the CD
and if the CD-ROM driver is already installed. Leave
D:\OS2IMAGE
entered as the location. Click Install.
Otherwise, enter A: and click on Install, and insert the OS/2 Warp
installation floppy disk as instructed.
7 When installation is complete, shut down and restart your system.
Installing the Sound Board Driver
NOTE HP recommends that you disable the Automatic Power Management
(APM) feature from the BIOs. To do this, run the Setup program (press
F2 while F2=Setup is displayed during the system start-up routine), go
to the Power menu and set the Standby Delay to “None” or “Off”.
For additional information regarding installation of the sound board
software with OS/2, refer to the readme file in the OS2 directory on the
HP Multimedia Sound CD-ROM.
