1 Installing Your Multimedia Sound Kit

Step 1: Installing the CD-ROM Drive

To install the CD-ROM drive, you may need a flat-headed screwdriver

(not supplied with the drive kit).

1 Switch off the monitor and PC, disconnect all power cords and any

telecommunication cables.

2 Remove the computer’s cover (described in your PC’s User’s Guide)

3 Select a power connector and an IDE data connector for connecting

the CD-ROM drive. (Refer to your PC’s User’s Guide for information

about selecting an IDE connector.)

NOTE If your PC does not have a free IDE connector, use the cable provided

with the CD-ROM drive. If more than one IDE cable has been provided,

use the shortest one that will fit.

4 Select an empty drive shelf for installing the CD-ROM drive. The

shelf must have front access.
