Call Recording & Monitoring
The Call Recording module allows you to record any inbound, outbound and extension-
to-extension call. You can record every call automatically or you can record a call on
demand. The ExecutiveAssistant Call Log offers user the ability to see which calls have
been recorded and gives the user the ability to play them back at the touch of a button.
NBX Dial Plan Configuration
To support ExecutiveAssistant’s call recording, one must modify the dial plan of your
NBX system first. This section describes the changes needed on your NBX system to
allow ExecutiveAssistant to record the following types of calls:
• Inbound external calls
• Internal (extension-to-extension) calls
• Outbound external calls
Inbound External Calls
To allow ExecutiveAssistant to record inbound external calls, you must make a small
modification to the NBX system dial plan. This change will route all calls arriving at a
gateway extension (analog, BRI, PRI, etc.) to the ExecutiveAssistant Auto-Attendant.
1. Using NetSet, create a hunt group for the ExecutiveAssistant Auto-Attendant, if you
did not create one earlier. Refer to Post Media Driver Install Configuration, earlier in
this guide.
2. In NBX NetSet, select Dial Plan > Configure. In the screen that appears, select the
Modify tab. The screen that appears shows the current dial plan in your NBX system.
Note: You may wish to save your current NBX system dial plan before making any
changes. To save the current dial plan, select the Operations tab, click the Export
button, then save the text that appears to a file.
3. Modify the ExternalSettings line in the dial plan from the default NBX Auto-
Attendant (usually 500), to the hunt group created for the ExecutiveAssistant Auto-
Attendant (4001 in this example), as shown in the screenshot below.
4. Click the Apply button to save these changes to your NBX system dial plan.
5. Click the OK button in the confirmation dialog box that appears. The NBX system
will import and test the new dial plan and the Import Results screen will appear.
Incoming external calls will now be routed by the NBX system to the
ExecutiveAssistant Auto-Attendant.
