7.6.1 Configuration of the LAN Interface
7.6.1.1 General Network Settings tab
The settings in this section allows you to prepare THINTUNE for remote management and firmware updates
with THINTUNE Manager. Please be notified that for remote administration you need to install and
configure a firmware server. This will be a specified server to which THINTUNE connects to and checks for
new configurations or firmware versions. The software needed to install the firmware server can be
downloaded from the support section under
www.esesix-com.de.
Loopchecking If there are lots and small print jobs sent to THINTUNE, THINTUNE
might interprete this as a DoS-attack. In this case all printing-data will
be disregarded! To disable Loopchecking means that THINTUNE no
longer will check for DoS-attacks.
Proxy If the firmware server is located behind a proxy this dialog lets you
enter the proxie´s address.
Enable Management If checked this terminal remotely can be managed by THINTUNE
Manager.
Address/Port Determines the IP-address and the port of the Managementserver. This
value can be configured manually or by DHCP or by using the Assign-
option from THINTUNE Manager. For more details please refer to the
THINTUNE Manager manual.
Connection timeout (startup) On startup of the terminal this option lets you determine the number of
retries to establish communications between the terminal and the
Management server.
