Checking the Status of the Battery Backup Unit
The batteries installed in the Battery Backup Unit carry a one-year warranty, but
may last for two or more years. The battery life is considered to be "low" if the
battery has been through 1,000 recharge cycles. The battery status may be
checked by using HP NetRAID Express Tools or HP NetRAID Config.
Using Express Tools to Check the Battery
To check the status of the battery using HP NetRAID Express Tools, complete
the following steps:
1. Restart the HP Netserver.
2. Press <Ctrl> <M> at the prompt to start the HP NetRAID Express Tools utility.
3. Choose Objects from the Tools Management menu.
4. Choose Battery Backup to view the battery status.
Using Config to Check the Battery
To check the battery’s status using HP NetRAID Config, complete the following
steps:
1. Start HP NetRAID Config.
2. Choose Objects from the Management menu.
3. Choose Battery Backup to view the battery status.
Warnings That Battery Needs Replacement
Power-up diagnostics include a battery life check. An on-screen message
alerts you if the battery life is low. HP NetRAID also sends an SNMP
error message to alert you to this condition.
