Chapter 9 Issues and Problem Resolution
3. Within the DCU, use the Hardware Device Configuration to ensure that the hpn
driver is mapped to the hpncard. If the hpnraid driver is mapped in the second
column to a device with resources attached to it, as indicated in the other
columns to the right, the driver has most likely mapped correctly. The hpnraid
card resource allocation follows:
hpnraid will consume one irq
hpnraid will consume 0xff + 1 IO byte addresses
hpnraid will consume 0x1fff + 1 Memory byte addresses
hpnraid will not consume any DMA channels
4. To further ensure that the hpnraid driver is mapped to the card correctly, move
the cursor to the hpnraid entry and press F6. The board ID field should be set to
0x10110046.
5. If the hpnraid driver is not mapped to the installed hpnraid card, complete the
following steps:
o Use the DCU Hardware Device Configuration facility to map the driver to
the card:
¾ Use tab to move the cursor to the second column.
¾ Scan the DCU entries by pressing F6 for each entry and looking for the
board ID field set to 0x10110046 as above. When the hpnraid card is
found, with the cursor in the second column, press F2 and choose the
hpnraid driver.
o If the hpnraid driver is mapped to a DCU entry erroneously, remove the
mapping, select the correct driver if applicable, or simply select unused at the
driver mapping menu for the entry and choose “N” in the leftmost column for
the entry.
