Chapter 4 NetRAID-4M Software
NetWare
1. From the previously created diskette, copy the nwappdl.exe file to a Novell
NetWare client system.
2. Run the nwappd1.exe program from the NetWare client. This uncompresses the
files.
3. Copy all the uncompressed files from the NetWare client to the NetWare server.
4. Record the name of the directory that you copied the files to for future reference.
The sys:system\ directory is recommended.
5. Start the install process for the hpncli application from the NetWare server's
command console screen by typing:
load [path reference]\hpnsetup.nlm
6. Follow the instructions given during the installation process. HP recommends
using the defaults.
7. After exiting the installation program, at the NetWare server's command console
start the hpncli management software by typing:
load hpncli
Linux, UnixWare, OpenServer
For instructions on updating the HP NetRAID-4M utilities for operating systems
other than Windows NT and Windows 2000 please see the documentation for that
operating system.
Step 7-Update the HP NetRAID-4M Cluster Component
Windows NT and Windows 2000
1. At the main Windows screen, select Start and select Run.
2. Type the pathname to the cluster component Setup.exe file.
3. Follow the steps.
4. When the NetRAID-4M cluster component installation is complete, reboot the
server.
5. Repeat all of these steps on the 2nd node in the cluster starting from Step 2.
After both nodes have been successfully upgraded, move all resources back to
their original node ownership.
