Overview of This Manual
Installing a NetRAID-4M in a Cluster
Jumper settings may need to be changed before you install the NetRAID-4M card
into a cluster configuration. See Chapter 2‚ SCSI Devices and Clustering.
Operating System Support
The HP NetRAID-4M is only supported with a specific set of operating systems.
Some of those operating systems have special requirements and information that
should be reviewed. See Chapter 3‚ Operating System Support for details.
Matched Set of Software Components
For proper operation, your NetRAID-4M must have a matched set of software and
firmware, including:
• NetRAID-4M software build numbers. See Chapter 4‚ NetRAID-4M Software.
• Server BIOS. See Chapter 5‚ HP Server BIOS and Slotting Rules.
• Disk drive firmware. See Chapter 6‚ Disk Drive Firmware Revision.
• Rack Storage/12 revision. See Chapter 7‚ Rack Storage/12 Revision.
Cable Installation
Some HP Servers require the installation of an additional cable for use with the
NetRAID-4M. Instructions on installation of these cables can be found in Chapter
8‚ Internal Cabling.

This chapter has a complete list of all known NetRAID-4M bugs-including bugs that
