5 Configuration
Overview
This chapter covers Steps C, D, E, F, and G of the installation procedure. You
should already have completed Step A, "Plan Your Hardware," and Step B, "Plan
Arrays and Logical Drives," in Chapter 4.
Step C. Verify Hardware Setup
Verify that your hardware setup matches the plans you sketched in Worksheet A.
Make sure of the following:
You have installed and connected all additional hardware that you plan to
use, such as a duplex board, second mass storage cage, or external mass
storage enclosure
Disk drive modules are inserted in the hot-swap mass storage cage(s)
NOTE For HP NetServer LH 3/3r and LH 4/4r, make sure the SCSI
IDs of the non-hot-swap devices on the SE SCSI connector do
not conflict with the SCSI IDs of the hot-swap disk drive
modules connected to SCSI B.
Step D. Run Setup Utility
Run the Setup utility to do the following:
For HP NetServer LH 3/3r and LH 4/4r, use the Setup utility to enable the
integrated HP NetRAID controller and to designate the channels it
controls. Refer to "For HP NetServer LH 3/3r and LH 4/4r, Run Setup
Utility" in this chapter.
For HP NetServer LH 3000/3000r, LH 6000/6000r, and LT 6000r, use the
Setup utility to put SCSI channels A and B under control of the integrated
HP NetRAID controller. Refer to "For HP NetServer LH 3000/3000r,
LH 6000/6000r, and LT 6000r, Run Setup Utility" in this chapter.
