Chapter 9 Maintenance
Configuring the Replacement Adapter
To configure a replacement adapter:
7 Connect the cable to the replacement
adapter.
8 Replace the cover on the IOP.
9Power on the IOP.
Step Action Notes
1 Use the manufacturers setup utility to
configure the adapter.
If this requires that you boot Windows NT, boot the
IOP in Offline Endurance I/O Processor Mode.
If you are not sure of the configuration settings to
use for this adapter, use the redundant adapter (in the
other IOP) as a reference. Table 9-2 describes
common conventions and considerations for
configuring a replacement adapter.
2 Boot the IOP in Offline Endurance I/O
Processor Mode.
3 Access the Network Control Panel to verify
that the network bindings are properly
configured.
If the replacement adapter is identical to the
adapter that was removed, you need not change
the bindings.
If you installed a new NIC driver, the bindings
will not be correct.
If you are unsure about how the bindings should
be configured, refer to the HP NetServer AA
Installation Guide or compare the bindings with
the redundant adapter on the other IOP.
4 If you replaced this adapter because it was
faulted, issue an Endurance Manager
IOPx.Ethernet Enable command.
5 Reboot the IOP in Operational Endurance
I/O Processor Mode.
