IOPn.MtcEthP status: Physical Ethernet device has failed.
Severity Warning
Description This message is logged if an Ethernet Enable command is issued on a failed device. You cannot
enable an Ethernet adapter that has failed.
Action • Check the Windows NT Event Viewer for messages that indicate the cause of the failure.
• If an Ethernet device fails, correct the condition and reboot the IOP. Refer to Chapter 9 in
HP NetServer AA Solution Administrator’s Guide for information about how to reboot an
IOP.
IOPn.MtcEthP status: Runt Ethernet packet received.
Severity Warning
Description The NIC indicated that it received an Ethernet packet with an invalid header length (less than
14 bytes).
Hardware/Software A large number of receive errors can indicate a problem with the NIC.
Action • Check the Ethernet cable.
• Run the NIC manufacturer’s diagnostics program.
• If errors persist, replace the NIC.
