IOPn.MtcEthP status: Physical Ethernet device has failed.
Severity Warning
Description This message is logged if an Ethernet Enable command is issued on a failed device. You cannot
enable an Ethernet adapter that has failed.
Action Check the Windows NT Event Viewer for messages that indicate the cause of the failure.
If an Ethernet device fails, correct the condition and reboot the IOP. Refer to Chapter 9 in
HP NetServer AA Solution Administrators Guide for information about how to reboot an
IOP.
IOPn.MtcEthP status: Runt Ethernet packet received.
Severity Warning
Description The NIC indicated that it received an Ethernet packet with an invalid header length (less than
14 bytes).
Hardware/Software A large number of receive errors can indicate a problem with the NIC.
Action Check the Ethernet cable.
Run the NIC manufacturers diagnostics program.
If errors persist, replace the NIC.
