IOPn.MtcEtx status: Unable to open NIC; initialization aborted.
Severity Error
Description This message is logged during initialization, when MtcEtx attempts to open the IL adapter.
There may be an error in the bindings that were established in the Network Control Panel
application. Alternatively, the NIC driver that loads before MtcEtx may have encountered an
error that prevented it from initializing the device.
Action • Check the event log for errors logged by the NIC driver.
• Verify the bindings in the Network Control Panel application.
IOPn.MtcEtx status: Unable to query or set NIC.
Severity Error
Description This message is logged during initialization or during IOP state transitions, when MtcEtx
attempts to set or query NIC characteristics. The Event Log Data section contains the Windows
NT (NdisRequest) error code.
Depending on the attempted operation, MtcEtx may abort initialization, or may report an error
to the Fault Handler.
Action Rebooting the IOP should clear state transition errors. Refer to Chapter 9 in HP NetServer AA
Solution Administrator’s Guide for information about how to reboot an IOP.
IOPn.MtcEtx status: Unable to reset NIC.
Severity Error
Description This message is logged during IOP state transitions if MtcEtx attempts to reset the NIC that
services the IL. The Event Log Data section contains the Windows NT (NdisReset) error code.
MtcEtx reports an error to the Fault Handler.
Action The IOP is rebooted automatically after receiving this message.
