IOPn.MtcMon status: A CE protocol error was detected on IOPx during an IOPy remove or disable operation.
Va r ia b le s x – the ID of the IOP on which a protocol error was detected
y – the ID of the IOP that was being removed or disabled when the error was detected
Severity Warning
Description When using the Endurance Manager to issue a request to shut down or disable an IOP, the
Monitor performs a series of message exchanges between the local IOP and the CE. A protocol
error was detected during this message exchange.
Related Messages
IOPn.MtcMon status: The IOP shutdown or disable operation failed.
IOPn.MtcMon status: CEx has been removed from service.
IOPn.MtcMon status: IOPx has been removed from service.
Hardware/Software This message is usually generated as a result of a hardware failure occurring during the
message exchange, or a software error.
Action The IOP shutdown or disable operation is aborted when this message occurs. The message
IOPn.MtcMon status: The IOP shutdown or disable operation failed is also
generated. It is also possible that a secondary message occurs that results in removing the CE
or an IOP. Report this message to your service provider.
IOPn.MtcMon status: A conflict was detected during CE boot with remote IOPx.
Va r ia b le s x – the ID of the remote IOP that is attempting to boot the CE
Severity Warning
Description This message is generated during CE boot when it is determined that two IOPs are
independently attempting to boot the CE. This occurs if either:
• The IL cable is not properly connected
• The IL is faulted, preventing the IOPs from communicating
Related Messages
IOPn.MtcMon status: The boot process has failed for CEy.
IOPn.MtcMon status: The boot conflict could not be resolved.
Hardware/Software A physical problem exists with the Interconnect between the two IOPs.
Action When this situation occurs, this message is generated by both IOPs. The IOPs evaluate the
information provided by the CE when the conflict occurs and determine from this information
which IOP should drive the CE boot. No action is necessary unless this message is followed
by the message IOPn.MtcMon status: The boot conflict could not be
resolved. If these messages are reported sequentially, report this to your service provider.
