IOPn.MtcMon status: An Endurance Manager request to shut down the operating system on the CE(s) could not be
performed because the Endurance System Management Service on the CE(s) is not active.
Severity Warning
Description This message is generated after issuing a command to shut down the CE’s Windows NT
operating system. To perform this operation, the Endurance System Management Service must
be active on the CEs. The Endurance System Management Service on the CE(s) has not yet
started. The Endurance Manager request is not completed.

Hardware/Software This message is generated by software in response to a user’s request to shut down the
Windows NT operating system on the CE(s).
Action Examine the services running on the CE(s):
• Make sure that the CEs are operational and are running Windows NT.
• Make sure that Endurance Manager is running on the CE(s).
IOPn.MtcMon status: An error occurred activating Interconnect ESIx.
Va r ia b le s x – the ID of the ESI that had an error during activation
Severity Error
Description During IOP joining, the ESI between the joining IOP and the CE experienced an error. This
message results in the joining process being aborted. The Interconnect is thresholded. If the
threshold is not exceeded, the IOP retries joining. If the threshold is exceeded, the Interconnect
is faulted, and the IOP remains idle until you issue an ESI Enable command.
Related Messages
IOPn.MtcMon status: The join process has failed for IOPx.
IOPn.MtcMon status: ESIx is faulted and requires repair.
Hardware/Software This message is usually due to a hardware problem with the specified Interconnect.
Action • If the IOP joining process succeeds on retry, no action is required. However, the
Interconnect has experienced at least a transient error that may be intermittent.
• If the Interconnect error threshold is exceeded, the Interconnect is faulted. Repair the
Interconnect and issue an ESI Enable Operation command. The IOP remains idle until you
issue the command; then the IOP automatically rejoins the Endurance server.
