Commands 5-31
IOPn.Diskx Enable Mirrored Disk
Warning: Using this command may cause a mirror set copy. Read all
instructions in this section before using this command.
This command attempts to enable a mirrored SCSI disk, indicated by
Diskx, that is disabled or
faulted. The disk is enabled without having to reboot the IOP under most circumstances.
A disk is faulted when it cannot respond to a read or write request. The disk’s failure to respond
to a read or write request may be transient or permanent.
This command is used to enable a disk following a repair or replacement. For instructions about
how to replace a disk, refer to Replacing a Failed Mirrored Disk on page 9-27.
A disk experienced read or write errors and was deemed to be faulted, then the faulted state
would remain across IOP reboots, even if you replaced the faulted disk. In this case, you must
explicitly enable the disk to clear its faulted condition.
Command IOPn.Diskx Enable Mirrored Disk
Console Syntax MTCCONS IOPn.Diskx Enable Mirrored Disk
Variables n – the ID number of the IOP (1 or 2)
x – the ID number of the SCSI disk
Results The disk remirroring process is initiated, if necessary. If a disk is enabled
and it becomes a mirror copy target, but the copy has not started yet, the disk
remains offline until the copy begins; it does not transition to online until the
mirror copy begins.
If this command does not succeed, examine the event log for details.
