Endurance Server Maintenance 9-29
4 If the failed disk is not installed in a
hot swap bay, shut down the IOP.
If the failed disk is installed in a hot
swap bay, you can attempt the repair
while the IOP remains online. To do
so, skip to step 5.
Otherwise, proceed to remove the
IOP with the failed disk drive from
service:
• From the application task bar,
select Start Programs
Marathon Endurance
Endurance Manager.
• Verify that the other IOP is fully
operational.
• From the Endurance Manager,
issue the command
IOPn
Disable Operation From
IOP1.
• Verify that all network connections
on the other IOP are online (bright
green) or in standby (dark green).
• Verify that the other IOP remains
online and the server remains
operational, including network
connectivity.
• Shut down the local IOP with the
bad disk.
• Power off the IOP.
• Remove the failed disk.
• Install the replacement disk
following instructions for your
specific hardware.
• Power on the IOP.
• Boot the IOP to Operational
Endurance I/O Processor Mode.
If the failed disk is in IOP1, verify that IOP2 (the other
IOP) is capable of sustaining the server, including
the CE operating system and connections to the
redirected networks. (Refer to step 2 in this
procedure).
If the failed disk is in IOP2, verify that IOP1 is
capable of sustaining the server, including the CE
operating system and connections to the redirected
networks. (Refer to step 2 in this procedure).
