HP Netserver AA Solution Administrator's Guide v4.0 SP1

4-10 HP Netserver AA Solution Administrator’s Guide
Redirected
Devices
Indicates the status of the redirected devices that are defined in the Endurance
server configuration (Chapter 6). The redirected device types are described below.
The icon for a redirected device type is displayed only if one or more devices of that
type are redirected. For example, the serial port icon is displayed only if a serial
port is redirected.
Note: If the IOP where the redirected device physically resides is powered off,
faulted, or not booted in Operational EnduranceI/O Processor Mode, the
status of the redirected devices may be reported as unknown.
If more than one mirrored disk set or non-mirrored disk is present in the system, it is
represented as a stack of disks. To determine a disk’s position in the stack, start at
the bottom of the stack and count disks, starting with zero, as you move up the
stack. Because the non-mirrored disks appear only in the disk stack on the IOP
where they reside, the position of a mirror set member on one IOP may be in a
different location relative to the location of its mirror set member on the other IOP.
For information on how to configure redirected devices, refer to Chapter 6.
Device states are documented in Chapter 2.
SCSI
Disks
Indicates the status of the redirected SCSI
disks from that IOP. The SCSI disk icon
displays the number of redirected SCSI disks.
For example, the icon shown on the left
indicates that four SCSI disks are redirected
from this IOP to the CE.
CD-ROMs
Tape Devices
Indicates the status of the redirected device
from this IOP. The icon for these devices
reports their status on a 1:N basis. For
example, if more than one CD-ROM is
redirected from an IOP, the least desirable
state of any CD-ROM is shown using the icon.
