During system configuration, the Netraid Utility on the HP NetServer Navigator CD-
ROM helps you set logical disk size in the Disk Array Configuration process. If the
boot drive is on the Disk Array Controller, set the logical disk size of the boot
partition to 2048 MB or less.
• Booting from the Embedded SCSI Controller
Non-disk array systems boot from the drive with the lowest SCSI address. HP
recommends SCSI ID 0 for the boot drive. If you configure the boot drive with
another SCSI ID, your system may not boot when additional SCSI drives are
installed.
Installation Issues for the E 60
Windows NT SBS 4.0 does not include the appropriate driver for the following integrated
adapters on the E60.
• The embedded Adaptec 7895 SCSI
• The embedded Intel 82559 LAN adapter
In addition, when installing the product using the Microsoft procedure the system will
experience the following problems.
• Blue screen stop error 0x7b due to SCSI driver added by the installer.
• If you use the new SCSI driver aic78xx.sys then the system will go further but still
fails with a blue screen Stop error 0x0a due to 82557 NIC (Network Interface Card)
driver added by the installer.
Installation Options
To overcome installation issues use one of the following installation options:
• Use the Navigator Installation Assistant method to install the product.
(Recommended)
• Use the installation instructions provided below to manually install the NOS.
Automated Installation of BackOffice Small Business Server via HP
Installation Assistant
Your HP NetServer has a special program called the NOS Installation Assistant. This
program will automatically create a DOS partition, format the partition, install DOS, and
connect the NetServer to the CD ROM drive. It will start the Small Business Server
installation process and install the appropriate NetServer mass storage drivers. To use
this program, you must choose the Automated Mode of NOS Installation after selecting
the NOS from the Configuration Assistant. Configuration Assistant is available from the
