Installation
Note: If you use HP’s Installation Assistant to install NetWare 4.2 or 5.0/5.1, it configures the system to
automatically load common device module NWASPI.CDM (used for TapeWare) at system startup time. If
you want to use NetWare backup program SBACKUP with your DAT 24i, rather than TapeWare, you must
load NWTAPE.CDM, the common device module used for SBACKUP.
To Install TapeWare:
Note: If you are using NetWare 5.0/5.1, first key ALT+ESC from the main screen.
If the server has a CD-ROM drive:
NetWare 4.2
•
SERVER: CD MOUNT [cd device] <Enter>
•
SERVER: LOAD TAPEWARE:INSTALL <Enter>
NetWare 5.0/5.1
•
SERVER: CDROM <Enter>
•
SERVER: TAPEWARE:INSTALL <Enter>
If the server does not have a CD-ROM drive, use the following procedure to copy files from a workstation
connected to the server. This example assumes that the server’s SYS: volume is mounted as the
workstations’s F: drive.
From a workstation:
C:>MD F:\Twins <Enter>
C:>MD F:\Twins\NET <Enter>
C:>COPY D:\INSTALL.NLM F:\TWINS <Enter>
C:>COPY D:\NET\*.* F:\TWINSE\NET <Enter>
From the server:
SERVER: LOAD SYS:TWINS:INSTALL <Enter>
To Run TapeWare:
•
Run TWADMIN.NCF from SYS:SYSTEM
•
SERVER: LOAD TWADMIN
Note: When installation is complete, the user should press the escape <ESC> key to return to the command
line. For further details the user should consult the related section in the TapeWare Users Guide and the
Help text.
