HP NetServer LH Pro Microsoft Cluster Installation Guide - 1 October 1997 25
Part 6: Installing and Testing Microsoft
Cluster Server Software
During installation at System B, you will create a Microsoft Cluster Server. Initially, it is a cluster with only one
server, System B. Later, you will join System A to the cluster and thus create a standard two-server cluster. If you
need more information about the installation process outlined here, see the Microsoft
®
Windows NT™ Cluster
Server Administrator's Guide.
Setup at System B
Microsoft Cluster Server installation includes slightly different software setups for System A and System B. Since
you just finished configuring disks on System B, continue Microsoft Cluster Server Setup where you left off with
Disk Administrator.
If you have not already done so, you should create an account for System B in a Microsoft Domain now. During the
installation of Microsoft Cluster Server you will need to supply a domain account for Microsoft Cluster Server to
run in.
To install Microsoft Cluster Server at System B:
1. Insert the Component CD of Microsoft Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition in System B’s CD-ROM
drive.
2. Run the Microsoft Cluster Server setup program.
Setup.exe is located in the following folder:
\mcsc\cluster\i386
Setup examines your system and displays a dialog box that lists the following install options:
Form a new cluster
Join an existing cluster
Install Cluster Administrator
3. Choose Form a New Cluster and click Next.
Setup prompts you to identify the cluster by name.
