2. Remove the system fan, shown in Figure 3-1, by grasping the
handle on its top and lifting straight up.
C. Removing the Existing BBM, If Present
If you are replacing an existing BBM:
1. Unplug the BBM cable from the connector on the I/O baseboard
(see Figure 3-2).
Figure 3-2 shows the I/O baseboard looking down into the opening
from which you removed the system fan. The plastic shield
covering the I/O baseboard (not shown in the figure) does not
interfere with unplugging the BBM cable.
2. Squeeze (in the direction indicated by the arrows on the latches)
both latches on the BBM, and rotate the top of the BBM away from
the HP NetServer.
3. Lift the BBM away from the HP NetServer.
4. Dispose of the BBM following local regulations, or return it to your
HP reseller.
