11. Install the HP NetRAID adapter in a PCI slot, as shown in Figure 7. Also refer to Chapter 7 of the HP
NetServer LPr Installation Guide and the documentation supplied with the HP NetRAID adapter for more
detailed instructions.
NOTE PCI slot #3 shares the same interrupt line as the embedded SCSI controller. Use other PCI slots
before using slot #3 to avoid a small performance loss due to interrupt sharing.
12. Connect the original SCSI cable to an internal channel connector of the HP NetRAID adapter, as shown in
Figure 7. To do so, squeeze the extractors on the connector, as shown in Figure 3, and then push the connector
on until it clicks into place.
13. Replace any PCI accessory boards that you removed.
14. Replace the PCI access cover, which hinges at the bottom and swings in at the top. Ensure that the tabs at the
bottom of the cover capture the AC power line on the enclosure floor and hold it against the enclosure side.
15. Ensure that all cables are out of the way, and then replace the top cover as described in Chapter 3 of the
HP NetServer LPr Installation Guide.
16. Replace the NetServer in the rack, as described in your rack documentation and Chapter 9 of the HP NetServer
LPr Installation Guide.
17. After all covers have been replaced and secured, reconnect the power cord and all external cables, as described
in your rack documentation.
NOTE The external SCSI cable must be single-ended Ultra SCSI with a maximum length of 2.5 m
(98 inches). Terminate the external SCSI cable at the drive farthest on the cable from the
NetServer.
