4 Preparing to Assemble the LXr 8500

This chapter describes how to put together the following NetServer LXr 8500

subassemblies:

• processor tray

memory board

Prepare the LXr 8500 Processor Tray

NOTE Processors from the LXr 8000 are reused, and this upgrade kit

does not include any additional processors. However, this

upgrade kit comes with two processor carrier boards and

supports a maximum of eight processors. Additional processors

can be purchased separately.

1. Press down on the

cache coherency filters

to ensure they are seated.


