Troubleshooting With the TSM Package
Amber-Orange LED (in the Middle) Not Lit on a BEB
Troubleshooting With the TSM Package
The TSM package can help isolate problems and determine possible causes of errors.
Disk Drive Does Not Function Properly
Be sure to also check the LEDs of the 45xx modular disk subsystem. For detailed
symptoms and suggested corrective actions, see Troubleshooting Hardware
on page 3-3.
Symptom Corrective Action
Amber-orange LED (in the
middle) is not lit on a BEB.
Make sure the BEB is powered on.
Make sure the 6760 adapter is powered on.
Check the integrity of the fiber-optic cable
connection:
1. Inspect the cable connectors at both the SAC and
BEB ends. Make sure the connectors are inserted
properly. The connector keyway must fit the key
in the receptacle.
2. Inspect the length of the cable for defects or
kinks.
3. If you have multiple cables daisy-chained, make
sure that each connection is clean and secure.
4. Make sure the cable maximum bend radius of 10
centimeters (4 inches) has not been exceeded.
5. If the middle amber-orange LED still does not
light, the optical circuitry might be defective.
You might have to replace the SAC or the BEB.
Call your service provider for assistance.
Symptom Corrective Action
Disk drive does not respond to
software commands or is behaving
abnormally.
Use TSM commands to isolate the problem in
the 6760 adapter, SAC, or disk drive CRU.
For details, see the 6760 ServerNet/DA
Manual.
If you are unable to isolate the problem,
contact your service provider.
