Programming and Configuration Considerations
To change the compression mode, first stop the drive, then use the SCF ALTER
command to assign a value to the COMPRESSION option; for example:
->ALTER TAPE $TAPE0, COMPRESSION ON
It is not necessary to specify a compression modifier in the PERIPHERALS paragraph
if you set a systemwide default setting using the MEDIACOM ALTER MEDIADEFS
command. The MEDIACOM default setting overrides this modifier.
