Connecting a Fiber-Optic Cable to the BEB
After you have routed the AC power cords, connect the fiber-optic cable to the BEB
installed at the rear of the tape drive CRU.
Install the fiber-optic cable connector to the BEB as follows:
1. Remove the filler plug from the fiber-optic cable socket on the top of the BEB
enclosure. The filler plug is for protection during shipping.
2. Remove the dust cover from the fiber-optic connector at the other end of the cable.
3. Hold the connector so that the keyway meets the key in the BEB enclosure
receptacle (see Figure 3-15 on page 3-28).
Caution. Fiber-optic cables have a central core of fragile glass fibers. To prevent breakage,
avoid bending the cables sharply and do not handle them roughly.
