Connecting the SCSI Cable to the Tape Drive
1. Copy the device address to use later in the configuration process.
2. Connect the SCSI cable to the right 68-pin jack at the rear of the drive as shown in
Figure 5-1
.
3. Install the terminator at the other (left) 68-pin jack.
4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 as applicable.
Connecting the SCSI Cable to the Server
You can attach a 5257/5257ACL tape drive to a NonStop Himalaya S-series server using
one of the following, depending on your type of server:
•
ServerNet/DA
•
IOMF 2 CRU
•
PMF CRU
Supported connections for the 5257/5257 ACL tape drives are listed in Table 5-1
.
Caution.
Connector Damage:
Be careful not to bend or damage the pins or connectors when
connecting the cable to the drive or SCSI bulkhead.

Caution. Install the free end of the interface cable to NonStop Himalaya server. For
SCSI cables, be sure that the power to the tape drive is off before connecting to the
server.
