(1) SET
CONFIGURATION
The SET CONFIGURATION request and response are used to set the values of the
configuration block in the LIU.
Request The SET CONFIGURATION request builds the configuration block in the LIU or
replaces the values in that block. Changes take effect immediately.
The (1)SET CONFIGURATION requests is used when AUTOCONF has not been
specified in the SYSGEN program or when an application requires a change in the line
configuration. The values supplied in the SET CONFIGURATION request do not
need to match the values in the SYSGEN configuration file; however, the
configuration file should contain the line configuration used most frequently.
If more than one application will use the line, you should consider the following to
avoid problems:
If applications use different values of line-configuration options, try to use
different lines for the stations they address.
Allow only the first opener to set or change the configuration, and issue the SET
CONFIGURATION request immediately after the OPEN call. Then, you cannot
change parameters while any application has a session in progress.
To examine the current values before making a change, use the (2) FETCH
CONFIGURATION request.
