0, 1 through 3 Bits 0 through 3 specify RNR and polling behavior. The
values for the left nibble are:
0 Specifies that the station is a broadcast station.
This station has an address all stations can send to.
1 Specifies that ADCCP rejects all pending (65)
SENDTEXT requests. For pending SENDTEXT
requests, ADCCP returns status code 31 in the
response. For subsequent SENDTEXT requests,
ADCCP rejects them and returns status code 9 in
the response. After rejecting the requests, the
station enters LDS. A primary station sends a
DISC. A secondary station sends a FRMR.
2 Specifies that when a station is about to enter the
RNR state due to buffer constraints, all pending
(65) SENDTEXT requests are rejected. For pending
SENDTEXT requests, ADCCP returns status code
31 in the response. For subsequent SENDTEXT
requests, ADCCP rejects them and returns status
code 9 in the response. After rejecting the requests,
the station enters LDS. A primary station sends a
DISC. A secondary station sends a DM to any
frame received other than a mode setting command.
3 Specifies alternate polling behavior (Option_One).
The primary station does not send an
acknowledging RR when the secondary station
leaves the RNR state. I-frames available for the
secondary station are sent immediately, and the
primary station does not go through the poll list
before sending the frames.
Bits 4 through 7 specify the line control mode. The
value for the right nibble are:
1 Specifies normal response mode (NRM).
2 Specifies asynchronous balanced mode (ABM).
3 Specifies asynchronous response mode (ARM).
2 In SYSGEN, the line control mode is specified by NRMMODE, ABMMODE, or ARMMODE instead of MODE plus a value.
