(69) DEFINELIST The DEFINELIST request and response are used to make changes to the station list.
Request The DEFINELIST request establishes, modifies, or adds to the station list (see “Polling”
in Section 2, “ADCCP Link and Station Management”). You can use this request not
only to define a whole new list but also to define new stations or change entries for
existing ones. The DEFINELIST request lets you modify the station ID, station type,
condition, and address (in contrast to CHANGELIST, which only lets you change the
condition).
This request is required in each of the following cases:
If the mode is NRM, the line is multipoint, and if the local station is a primary
station, the station list should have one entry for each remote station. The station
type should be primary because the local station is a primary station. The station
state modifier should describe the starting condition of the local station. The
address in the request should match the address of the remote station and be
consistent with the setting of the SYSGEN AFLDn parameter.
If the mode is NRM, the line is multipoint, and if the local station represents
secondary stations, the list should have one entry for each station. The station
type should be secondary. The station state modifier should describe the
condition of the local station. The stations should have different addresses,
consistent with the setting of the SYSGEN AFLDn parameter.
If the the mode is ABM, the list should have one entry. The station type should be
combined. The station state modifier should describe the condition of the local
station. The address should be that of the local primary substation. (The system
ADDRESSn parameter provides the address of the secondary substation.)
If you do not use the DEFINELIST request, the station has the following
characteristics:
The station ID is 1.
The station's type is primary.
The station state modifier is active.
The address is C1 hexadecimal.
These characteristics make the DEFINELIST request optional when the station’s mode
is NRM or ARM and the line is point-to-point. If, however, these characteristics are
not satisfactory, you can use the DEFINELIST request to change them. (Do not assign
a station ID other than 1 for a point-to-point line because other stations on the line will
not recognize the station.)
