Table 6-9 lists codes that report errors in incoming frames.

40 DISC The remote station did not respond to an information
frame. This error is typically reported in a SENDTEXT
response.
Application dependent.
41 DISC An input frame exceeded the maximum length defined
for the line. The station state does not change. As
much of the frame as possible is delivered to the
application.
Change the value of MAXFRAME.
42 DISC An input frame had an invalid C-field; the station is in
DISC mode. There is either a configuration problem or a
remote station malfunction.
With a configuration problem , you will see
effects on other stations; use FETCH
STATISTICS or LINE QUALITY to investigate
the problem. If the remote station station is
malfunctioning, be careful about
reestablishing the link before the solving the
problem with the remote station.
43 DISC An I-field was present in an input frame that should not
have contained one. For example, there was an I-field in
a mode-setting frame. The station is in DISC mode.
There is either a line problem or a station problem.
Use the same recovery procedure as for
status code 42.
44 DISC The Nr value in an incoming frame acknowledged a
frame that had not yet been sent.
Use the same recovery procedure as for
status code 42.
45 READY Specified Poll Cycles done. None. This is an indication only.
