ADCCP features they make possible :
Alternate polling
ADCCP-to-Token-Ring communication
Quality Changes to the
Manual
The format and style of the first edition have been changed to conform to the current
format and style of Tandem technical publications. Also, the information presented in
first edition has been reorganized. The major organizational changes in the second
edition are:
Section 4, “Writing Applications that Use ADCCP,” now includes information on
Guardian file-system procedures that the programmer may need when writing an
application. This section also includes TAL and C programming examples.
Section 6, “Requests and Responses,” describes the requests and responses that an
application uses to communicate with the ADCCP protocol module. In the first
edition, the requests and responses were part of the section “Writing Application
that Use ADCCP.” Also, the ADCCP requests and responses are now listed by
function code.
Appendix C provides an example of a short C language program that makes a SET
CONFIGURATION request to the protocol module.
Appendix D of the first edition, which described ADCCP/X21, has become two
sections: Section 3, “ADCCP/X21 Protocol Module” and Section 5, “Writing
Applications that Use ADCCP/X21.” The requests and responses for
ADCCP/X21 are included in Section 6 of the second edition.
A glossary has been added and the index is more detailed.
