CPS ACTION TABLE
The CPS ACTION TABLE is a sequence of ten bytes in the ADCCP/X21 configuration
block that specifies responses for the various types of call progress signals (CPS). The
X.21 network delivers call progress signals to the calling DTE during call
establishment, usually to indicate the reason for an unsuccessful call attempt.
ADCCP/X21 processes each incoming CPS and takes the action specified in the CPS
action table.
Table 3-2 shows the default values specified for the CPS action table. The table shows
the action that ADCCP/X21 takes on receiving a CPS from each of the classes: class 0
through class 9. The default actions correspond to the CCITT recommendation;
however, you can change any of them by issuing a WRITEREAD with a SET X.21
CONFIGURATION request.

Each CPS consists of two digits. The first digit has a range of 0 through 9. It indicates
the class the signal belongs to and determines the response that ADCCP/X21 takes.
The second digit provides a more specific indication of the condition that generated
the signal. When a CPS of a certain type is received, ADCCP/X21 takes an action that
depends on the value of the corresponding byte in the CPS action table:
