The default settings for each time limit are set to the CCITT recommendation. You
should not need to change any of them. Table 3-3 lists the default values for these DTE
time limits.

If one of these DTE time limits expires, your application is notified in a CONNECT
response message (Status 100, Error Detail 48-53, depending on the timer).
TIMELIMIT TL is not specified by the CCITT. ADCCP/X21 uses this time limit only
for leased lines. TL starts running when ADCCP/X21 receives a START OPERATION
request from an application. When the link enters the data transfer state (state 13), TL
is turned off. If TL expires before the link enters state 13, ADCCP/X21 completes the
START OPERATION request with an error code. The default value for TIMELIMIT
TL is 2000 (20 seconds).
