| SET CONFIGURATION - Supplies values for BSC line parameters,|
| or replaces default ASCII <--> EBCDIC |
| translation tables. |

| FETCH CONFIGURATION - Retrieves current BSC line parameters |
| or translation tables. |
| |
| FETCH STATISTICS - Retrieves line quality information, |
| counts of different kinds of frames, |
| and other statistics maintained by BSC. |
| |
| WRITE DATA - Transmits data (a message, a block, a |
| control character) and receives an |
| acknowledgement. |
| |
| READ DATA - Accepts a transmission. Depending on |
| the protocol state, may also acknowledge|
| the previous transmission, issue a |
| reverse interrupt (RVI), or turn the |
| line around with EOT. |
| |
| WRITEREAD DATA - Transmits data and receives a response, |
| e.g., an acknowledgement or a conversa- |
| tional reply. |
| |
| CONTROL - Establishes or severs the modem connec- |
| tion, resets the line with EOT, or |
| reports a "not ready" condition with |
| WACK or TTD. |
| |
| SETMODE - Sets the retry count for most opera- |
| tions, or the block length for trans- |
| parent text. |
| |
| ABORT - Abruptly terminates the request in |
| progress. |
| |
| HALT READ - Cancels an initial READ request before |
| the other station has bid for the line. |
